An Introduction to Learn Thru Music

We help GCSE English students learn and revise key exam and coursework topics through modern music.

We Love GCSE English and we want everyone else to love it as well. We believe that lots of students get ‘put off’ reading as they are never engaged by the text they are taught. We want to change this.

We decided that by merging the key themes of GCSE English texts with modern music styles we may help inspire a new generation of literary geniuses!

To this end Learn Thru Music has produced a series of audio based learning/revision resources comprising of educational songs produced to professional standards.

In Layman’s Terms we take a section of the curriculum, talk to teachers who are actively using it. Then distil all the information we’ve gathered into a music track that reflects a genre currently popular with the age group e.g. Shakespeare’s Othello, to Punk Rock!

The Music is supplied via download or streaming, and can then be used in class or on Phones, MP3 Players, PC and Macs to help students learn, and retain, the key points and sections of the syllabus e.g. Books and exam papers.

We’re passionate about GCSE English and reading and we aim to:

• Empower, encourage and re-engage young people in learning activities

• Improve pupil self-esteem, motivation, attitude and behaviour

• Increase learning abilities and GCSE English qualifications

• Improve the computer literacy skills of pupils
